Essay

The essay is an argumentative text par excellence, in the sense that one tries to make explicit a position regarding a subject It is assumed that its a controversial topic and that that the author will try to convince the reader o which hic is the most reasonable position.

The position is reflected in the use of the first person, of “we” inclusive or exclusive, or assertions that intend to persuade the reader to think or act in a certain way.

The strength of the assertion is not deduced from the passion with which it is enunciated, but from the empirical, logical or accorded ground it sustains.
